8/31 update

As promised, SUCCESS has updated their site today with some new content. Unfortunately, I won't be able to give a full translation because some of my aids are unavailable at the moment, so I'm going simply on what I know from JAPN B1... ... ... I'll edit later with a more concrete translation.

SUCCESS has closed the new technique form. RYO on the developers blog stated that they had received over 2,000 suggestions today alone, and said that everyone was busy looking them over to consider the suggestions.

Following that, SUCCESS opened stage four of its User Participation Project. This time, they are inviting fans to send in dialog for the wrestlers to say in various situations, which are: Victory (When they win a match), Kill Without Fail (Then they use their finisher), Entrance (Before a match), and miscellaneous situations.

The site also confirms twelve new characters for the game, all coming from the popular i-mode adaptation, "Wrestle Angels i (Ai, for love)". Once I can get a comfortable translation, I'll edit the post and add their names.

EDIT: Here are the new names according to the site.

- Witch Misa *
- Migiri Oosora
- Garm Takanashi *
- Rei K
otobuki
- Saori Saoyama *
- Sonic Cat *
- Diana Lyall *
- SA-KI *
- Chiyoru Hoshino
- Hazuki Musumi *
- Maiden Sakurazaki *
- Melody Kobato *

* Denotes a 100% accurate translation.

Plus the previously announced gaijins voted for by the fans.
- Bunny Bomber
- Lilly Sniper
- Janice Clare

8/24 Website update

SUCCESS has revealed the results of its Foreign Character Revival poll. I believe the top three are guaranteed to be added into the game. 4th and 5th are still listed, but they seen less important.

1st Place: Bunny Bomber (906 Votes)
2nd Place: Lilly Sniper (890 Votes)
3rd Place: Janice Clare (880 Votes)
4th Place: Corey Sniper (872 Votes)
5th Place: Miria Mears (552 Votes)

As part of the next phase in the User Participation Project, SUCCESS has set up a form allowing fans to submit what wrestling moves they want to see added in the next game. SUCCESS will continue taking ideas until 8/31. As far as I know, non-Japanese people can submit requests if you can type, or at least paste Japanese.

First Impressions

Welcome to my blog. The purpose of this blog is to report the progress of Wrestle Angels Survivor 2 (Tentative title) for everyone who isn't fortunate enough to understand Japanese.

I always hate first posts, so don't expect much. Anyway, here is a timeline of what we know.

7/27/2007: Wrestle Angels Survivor 2 is officially announced. The official website opens on the same day, along with a developers blog.

7/03/2007: Famitsu publishes an article on the game, revealing the first screen shots of the game, simply showing Mighty Yukino vs. Dynamite Rin and Chocho Caras vs. Toshimi Minami.

8/10/2007: SUCCESS announces a "ユーザー参加企画", or "User Participation Project". SUCCESS also announces that they've hired Alfa System to revamp the designs of the characters in the game, along with Homare Suetsugu for the designs of the gaijin (foreigner) wrestlers. They reveal new character designs for Dynamite Rin, Chocho Caras, and Daisy Cry, receiving a drastic makeover from their previous designs from WAS 1. On the same day, SUCCESS reveals phase two of their User Participation Project, giving Japanese fans the ability to vote on which gaijins from prior WA games would be included in the game.

8/22/2007: The second phase of the User Participation Project expires. SUCCESS has yet to reveal the results of the poll.
